AG series and CG series CompactPCI Buss Cards CompactPCI Buss Series

The AG CompactPCI Series cards date back to 1999 and are still currently produced. NMS supplies Natural Access as the supporting development environment and drivers. The most common models in this series are:

AG2000c - The AG 2000C analog interfaces are loopstart (LS) ports that provide basic trunk connection to the PSTN or to a PBX. The AG 2000C is available in three basic versions:

24-trunk configuration with DSP-based on-board call control and switching
16-trunk configuration with DSP-based on-board call control, switching, and IVR
8-trunk configuration with DSP-based on-board call control, switching, and additional enhancements, such as IVR, NaturalConference, NaturalFax, and Fusion VoIP.

Each of these three configurations is available in both a European version ("LSE") and a version that is applicable everywhere except Europe ("LS").

AG Quad Series/CompactPCI - The CompactPCI AG Quad T (96 ports) and CompactPCI AG Quad E (120 ports) may be installed in a CompactPCI H.110 chassis. These boards feature H.110 support for connecting channels to line interfaces, to DSP resources for voice processing and signaling, or to the H.110 bus.

The T1 boards will have two (AG Duals) or four (AG Quads) RJ-48C connectors. The E1 boards will have two (AG Duals) or four RJ-48C (AG Quads) 75 ohm or 120-ohm RJ-48C connectors

AG4000c Series - This CompactPCI family offers single T1 (24 ports) or single E1 (30 ports), dual T1 (48 ports) or dual E1 (60 ports), and quad T1 (96 ports) and quad E1 (120 ports) interfaces. The standard configurations are implemented with a single board or a combination of motherboard with daughterboard. The motherboard contains the digital T1 or E1 interfaces as well as 4, 8, or 16 DSPs. The daughterboard is used to extend the processing power of the board through the addition of 16 or 24 DSPs.

AG 4000C CompactPCI boards may also be configured as a single board or as a motherboard-daughterboard combination, depending upon processing requirements. The motherboard contains two or four digital T1 or E1 interfaces as well as 16 DSPs. The daughterboard contains an additional 16 or 32 DSPs.

The T1 boards will have up to 4 RJ-48C connectors. The E1 boards will have up to four 75 ohm RJ-48C with BNC adapter cables or up to four 120 ohm RJ-48 connectors.

CG6000c - Supports 2 or 4 standard T1 or E1 connections and has a dual 10/100Base-T Ethernet interface via RJ-45 connectors. The T1/E1 interfaces are implemented via RJ-48 connectors and are software switchable between T1/E1

CG6100c - Offers rear panel access for either 8 or 16 spans of software switchable E1 or T1. Some configurations include a daughterboard with DSP resources for more ports of IVR and fax. The CG 6100C features dual redundant 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interfaces.

CG6500c - Offers rear panel access for either 8 or 16 spans of software switchable E1 or T1. Some configurations include a daughterboard with DSP resources for more ports of IVR and fax. The CG 6500C features dual redundant 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interfaces. In some models, the Ethernet connections are through the buss and in others, through the rear transisiton card.

CX2000c - provides high-density analog station (operator workstation) interfaces for use with the AG and CG families of trunking and digital signal processing (DSP) resource platform products. The CX 2000 may be configured with up to 48 station interfaces in CompactPCI format. An external power supply is required to provide loop current and/or ringing voltage to local telephones from the CX 2000 station ports. One configuration includes an on-board ring generator for on-premise extensions.

The manufacturer does not sell any finished software for these cards other than Natural Access which includes the drivers for OS/2, NT and LINUX and several flavors of UNIX. The original customers for these cards typically wrote a software package that would support the CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) usages for which these cards were designed. Then they sold that package along with the cards.
